Who We Are

The Web Is Yours is a grassroots campaign run by James McGrath, trading as JFM Digital Works, Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

What We Offer

We build a free one-page website for small businesses that currently have no website of their own. As part of this offer we:

• Design and build a single one-page website using our standard template
• Purchase and register a domain name in the business's name (~€15 value)
• Host the website free of charge on Cloudflare Pages for the first 12 months
• Make minor text corrections within 30 days of launch

This is a voluntary campaign. We offer this service free of charge and in good faith.

What We Do Not Offer

The following are explicitly outside the scope of this campaign:

• More than one page
• Ecommerce or online shop functionality
• Booking or reservation systems
• Ongoing content updates beyond the 30-day correction period
• Search engine optimisation (SEO) services
• Social media management
• Email setup or hosting
• Ongoing technical support or maintenance

If your business requires any of the above we are happy to point you towards a suitable local developer or agency.

Your Responsibilities

To receive a website you agree to:

• Supply all content required to build the site — business name, description, services, hours, address, contact details, and at least one photo
• Ensure all content supplied is accurate and that you have the right to use it (including any photos)
• Respond to our requests for content and feedback within a reasonable time
• Review and approve the finished site before it goes live
• Take responsibility for the accuracy of your site content after launch

We cannot build your site without your content. If content is not supplied within 30 days of your onboarding form submission we reserve the right to withdraw the offer.

Domain Ownership

The domain name purchased for your site is registered in your name and belongs to you from day one. We will never transfer, sell, or hold your domain without your consent.

You are responsible for renewing your domain after the first year (approximately €15 per year). We will remind you when renewal is due.

Hosting

Your site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages under our account for the first 12 months at no cost to you. At month 11 we will contact you to discuss the handoff. Options at that point include:

• Transferring the site to your own Cloudflare account (Cloudflare Pages remains free)
• Moving to another hosting provider of your choice
• Continuing on our hosting at a nominal cost (to be agreed)

We do not guarantee 100% uptime. Hosting is provided by Cloudflare and subject to their terms of service. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss caused by Cloudflare or any other third party service.

Minor Changes — 30 Day Policy

We will make minor text corrections to your site within 30 days of launch. This covers:

• Phone number changes
• Email address changes
• Opening hours changes
• Address corrections

It does not cover structural changes, new sections, additional pages, or design changes. After 30 days the site is yours to maintain. All files are yours and will be provided on request.

Campaign Credit

Every site built as part of The Web Is Yours campaign carries a small footer credit reading "A free website by The Web Is Yours" linking to thewebisyours.org. This credit remains on the site and is not removable as a condition of participation.

Our Right to Decline

We reserve the right to decline any application at our discretion. We will not build websites for businesses whose content or activities we consider harmful, illegal, or contrary to the values of this campaign.

Intellectual Property

The website design, template, and code remain the intellectual property of JFM Digital Works and The Web Is Yours campaign. Your content — text, photos, business information — remains entirely yours.

You are free to take the HTML file, host it elsewhere, modify it, or hand it to another developer at any time. We encourage this.

Limitation of Liability

This service is provided free of charge and in good faith. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law we are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from the use of your website or any interruption to its availability.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued participation in the campaign after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
